After ascertaining their losses to be a total of three knights, King Arthur declares, "Well, we'd better not risk another frontal assault; that rabbit's dynamite! Wowpedia Explore. Main Page All Pages. World of Warcraft.

He may despawn if not attacked within a period of time. My groups waited up to 10m to attack and he didn't despawn. His respawn time could by anywhere between 6 and 34 hours. This still appears to be the case November He can be tagged by multiple groups. He cannot be kited due to Interdimensional Hop.
I have not seen him use this ability during the current faire November If you die during the encounter, you can run back from the graveyard. More than one person can loot Darkmoon Rabbit from the same kill. The loot is personal , meaning that your group status solo, party, raid, realm, faction will not affect your chances of loot. If the RNG gods grant you the pet, you must physically loot the corpse to receive the item it is not autolooted.
If RNG hates you, you will simply not have the option to loot the corpse. The pet can be bought and sold on the AH. The pet quality turns blue upon caging. All characters who participated in killing the rabbit will get the achievement: That Rabbit's Dynamite! His corpse seems to disappear rather fast maybe about 1m. Comment by Albaharmamar Just killed on Ravencrest, but the weirdest thing happened. Guess its spawn rate truly is just random, what luck though. Comment by Sateena I spent several hours camping the Darkmoon Rabbit today.
I was logged in the entire time, although I did use the group finder to catch him several times on other realms. The first spawn on my realm was at approximately AM server time. Next spawn was around PM. These are just estimates sorry! So it appears that the spawn timer may be as short as 4 hr 40 min. Comment by Kipex If you're hoping to get the loot, keep in mind that Darkmoon Faire achievements seem prone to crashing the game.
Granted, your experience may vary, but for me half of all the achievements there have crashed my game at the moment of getting them and this happened just now while killing the rabbit for the first time.
Gotta try to catch him later for the loot possibilities. Comment by rogomatic Is it possible to keep this hard enough to need a raid group to kill? The spawn times are so long and there is only a chance that the rabbit can drop.
It is impossible to commit time to camp for this whereas with boss status, there will always be groups that we can join to have a chance at it. Think Timelost Proto - long spawn time but guaranteed drop mount Pandaland world bosses, short spawn time, chance on drop mount. Comment by Invaerne I just came near his cave and the rabbit respawned. Easy kill with 14 people 1 tank, 1 healer.
Me and one priest got the pet first 2 persons who looted the rabbit , my last one from Darkmoon Island :. Comment by Taraezor For those of us who use targeting macros for the convenience of knowing if a rare is up and nearby the Rare Love AddOn over at Curse or WoW Interface does help with this one. The AddOn includes hunter rares as well as pet and mount drop rares. Basically, it groups a whole ton of macros into one simple macro. For the rabbit, I use it if I am on a ledge above or if I have bothered to walk on water to nearby.
When close enough I press the button and turn back. Saves time having to go right up to the cave entrance. Nobody seems to post in zone chat about the rabbit on my server so it is up to the individual to find it. Comment by multiversekyle Quick note since I don't see this info anywhere but this guy is similar to Moonfang now and can only be looted by max level toons.
Just in case anyone below was about to spend ten minutes killing this guy only to not be able to loot it Didn't drop us a pet :.
Comment by TJasper Solo tanked as Brewmaster with a dozen hunters that killed it pretty quick. Don't know if it would've killed me if the fight went on. None of us could loot the Darkmoon Rabbit pet. I thought it was a guaranteed drop? Comment by hjp Seems to be bugged this time around, not up immediately? Comment by sadistic spawned today on EU like 10 people tag'ed him, i pulled him first was not in a group didint get any loot and so the other 10 people around me maybe cooldown of respawn is reduced and so is drop.
Comment by Grammie Ok I get one actual day off a week I sat in one spot in front of the rabbit cave all day fishing - literally all fricken day I was the first to hit him I can honestly say I hit him a ton before anyone else tapped him when outta nowhere this group spawns and grabs the bugger and teleports away leaving the rest of us just sitting there Comment by dasbaum The Rabbit is Personal Loot now.
It's not worth to kill him alone. Do it in a group and hope that more people get the chance to get the loot. Comment by MidnightDemon There seems to be some confusion here. Originally the drop was shared, meaning only the first person to loot it got it crazy mad dash for the corpse. At least one person who loots it will get it. However, several drops per corpse have been reported. Hopefully this clears it up. As long as you're standing still, the damage you take is minimal at best. He starts out with m health if I remember correctly.
Skada states I sustained 1. If you get the luxury of doing this solo, I recommend putting your pet in Ferocity spec. While your pet holds aggro in Tenacity, he takes a lot of damage, forcing you to revive your pet, which drops aggro from the rabbit and you end up tanking anyway. Since I was solo and was not in a raid group, I did not get the pet speculation. I have one because I bought it from another player, but having two shouldn't make a difference either again, just speculation.
Of the 8. I don't know if that bugged it into not dropping the pet. Good Luck and Happy Hunting Edit: After reading other posts, I've learned that it's personal loot without the guarantee to drop. Comment by Grammie just battled - am server time Comment by morph33x They added new loot in 7.
Last DMF it was either rabbit or no loot at all. Comment by Razielle Since 7. I've noticed that, since this update, no pets tend to drop for raid groups under 10 people. Comment by Galacticus I've killed the Darkmoon Rabbit at least 7 times in the past 3 days.
It appears to have a much faster respawn rate about 4 to 5 hours and a low drop chance. My wife and I killed the Darkmoon Rabbit on Feb 4th with no other players. We were the only people in the party. She got the Darkmoon Rabbit drop. So you don't need to be in a large group. We killed the Darkmoon Rabbit again on Feb 5th with just the two of us in a group. The Darkmoon Rabbit did not drop for either of us. I killed the Darkmoon Rabbit again later that night solo Protection Warrior and took about 35 minutes.
No other players were around or tagged the rabbit. The Darkmoon Rabbit did not drop. I've killed the Rabbit several other times with another 2 person kill with my wife just moments ago, no Rabbit drop. Game Master Lassirraste replied to my ticket today, Feb 6th, with the following response: "In the end this looks like it's a case of confusion that a few people have had. The Darkmoon Rabbit pet does drop from that same Darkmoon Rabbit, however it is not a guaranteed drop.
This makes it a pretty prized Battle Pet due to its rarity from the Darkmoon faire not being up all the time! Comment by Nurmat 9. Comment by Lyariana The addition of war-mode has made farming this lil guy a lot easier. I ran about 12 raids in 1. We sometimes had gaps of minutes between kills, but often would be jumping from one raid to another straight after a kill.
We had rabbits drop in the raid per kill, and I personally had 3 drop. Just make sure you're near the cave when you join, because the rabbit's HP drops fast! Comment by Hojzti As of today, , he no longer spawns upon the opening of the Darkmoon Faire. Comment by Bleedingheart as of patch 8. Comment by Saeversole Had 7 of these drop as personal loot in 3 hrs.
If it's not dropping for you keep trying. Comment by mowyong Darkmoon rabbit is up on Blackrock server. As of PST, still untagged. Comment by Bathrezz You can farm the Darkmoon Rabbit multiple times a day on the same character.
It took me about 5 kills over a 1hr. I've had that issue and in the comments below you'll notice in a couple of places people have commented that they weren't able to loot specifically on Demon Hunters at any level. Something is broken with that class and this boss I believe.
Comment by hixym this is a joke atm need just a tank and healer and as much dps as u want to kill it faster, same deal for moonfang , pets dont work for rabbit but could spam rez and taunt with another hunter for other darkmoon boss. Comment by Amrasillias And in all these years noone mentioned the reason of the rabbit being at the Darkmoon Faire. Seeing that Monty Python had a flying circus might have had something to do with it I guess Comment by Makelele I just did this the first time today and got my rabbit.
Three out of 8 got the rabbit. I added mine to my collection, not sure about the others. I guess I'll have to do it a few more times to pay things forward.
Comment by Ivytwo I like using the Darkmoon Cannon to get to the rabbit more quickly. Ride part of the way down the Darkmoon path, just until you get to the edge of the cliff that overlooks the faire, set the cannon down while you're facing slightly toward the left the direction you want to fly and off you go.
Make sure you have something to slow your fall! As a Boomkin I use the flap glyph. Water strider or other water walking mount makes it easier once you land, but no need to drop far offshore, so even if you don't have a water walking mount, it works well. Comment by IMissThottbot I'd never done the rabbit in other expansions so I'm unsure how it stands up, but at the moment I'm fairly sure that a decent tank could solo it.
It'd take forever I wasn't sure if I should try it since it was early morning and groups are hard to form--but if you can get a good tank and maybe heals you're okay. More dps are good for time but not necessary. Comment by Skoooby Since I can't find any post about it, thought I'd share.
Unable to receive loot from the Darkmoon Rabbit if you are level or lower. Rip GG. Comment by doeeyedgirl Can hunters tame the darkmoon rabbit? Comment by ToriaURU After some testing with multiple groups and multiple characters with a friend and asking in raid groups for reports. It does appear that if you are level or higher you do receive loot.
I'm not sure about level. But can confirm on a rogue I didn't receive loot and on a level warlock did not receive loot. It has 17M health and does close to zero damage. It just stands there, taking it in the face. Comment by Edoll Just solo'd as a ilevel frost mage with healing proc essences.
Took about 7 minutes. If it wasn't for my essences, he'd definitely have killed me. I bet any tank or class with decent self-healing won't have problems at this ilevel though. Comment by Luomo Just killed him today in a group.
He was literally murdering me at but then the level 50 warlock can tank him just fine. Comment by Runawaynow Just spent 22 minutes killing the rabbit at level 60 with 2 other players, and no pet dropped.
Quite an annoying experience to have the content be more difficult due to the number of players and then receive no reward. Comment by Obleadedulce Just killed it 10 min ago in a raid. Discuss pet battles, strategy and theorycrafting.
Post by Jimbodan » January 17th, , pm So I went out and got myself a breed 5 Darkmoon Rabbit since I've seen a lot of people recommending breed 5 rabbits for various tasks and I figured if I was going to use a rabbit, I might as well use the rarest one. However I quickly noticed that his unique slot 1 ability, Huge, Sharp Teeth!
Basically it seems like the default setup for breed 5 rabbits is Flurry in slot 1, Dodge in slot 2, and Burrow in slot 3. I guess RNG could play a small role with how many times Flurry hits, but since you'd almost always be going first I'd think that with average luck it would still do more damage since the bleed effect from Huge, Sharp Teeth! Maybe the dot ticking while you use burrow and dodge might make up the difference? So is the Darkmoon Rabbit inferior to other rabbits that have Flurry, or am I missing something?
Re: Darkmoon Rabbit vs. Post by Zaelo » January 17th, , pm He's just The strength of rabbits reside mostly in Dodge and Burrow, and he does have both abilities at least. In other words, he'll be more efficient at killing critters than any other rabbit will ever be.
And he will not take down Undeads as fast as other rabbits will. Post by Notamonk » January 17th, , pm Rng is rng. Basically use which ever one you want, if you don't want your darkmoon rabbit I will happily take it off of your hands for you though!
Post by Talmar » January 17th, , pm I prefer the one big hit vs the multiple hit abilities because of abilities like shell shield and sandstorm. Nothing is worse that seeing Shell Shield and knowing one of your abilities has been completely negated. At least the one big hit will still some level of damage.
That's why I choice to level my Death Bunny over other Bunnies. Post by Zaelo » January 17th, , pm Talmar wrote: I prefer the one big hit vs the multiple hit abilities because of abilities like shell shield and sandstorm.
